What a Mighty Good Man!

Yes he is!  (For those of you that know that song...)  So yes, I brag about how handy my husband is, and he'd probably kill me for posting this.  He likes to downplay how great he is.  He installed a new kitchen sink and facet for me!  We got our tax return (yeah baby!) and we decided on two things we'd get.  1. new bed.  We're both big people and we've been sleeping on this queen (yes, that's right...i said QUEEN) mattress that's like at least ten years old!  Honestly, it had some MAJOR impressions.  I'm talking like if you wanted to roll over to the other side of the bed, you had to have some serious momentum to get over the middle bump.  And when you got to Ry's side you were stuck the depression was so bad.  (PLEASE don't tell him I said that!)  2. we got a new sink and facet!  Our water in PG is pretty hard.  I'm thinking I should probably bust out my hygiene scalers from school and chisel off the shiz around my facets.  Our kitchen facet was pretty bad and when you turned it on water would run ooze out of the sides and get all over the counter.  Solution: new facet and sink!  I knew I wanted the composite granite but I was deciding to go 60/40 or single.  I chose single! LOVE it! I'm pretty sure I could bathe in that sucker it's big enough.  It was "fun" to install.  I always tell Ry I'll help, but honestly, for those of you that know me, I can't even put a screw in the wall.  So I "supervised" and aided where I could.  We started 6:00 pm Friday and after MANY choice words were said (and not by me!) and several trips to the home depot and one night without water we got it in! She's a beauty!

New furniture, valentine's decor, jazz game and my new obsession! (whew...long title post!)

So, I have been searching and looking for something to go underneath my TV to replace this tiny little 'thing' I had there and I got an email from this couple that refurnishes old pieces of furniture and I fell  in love! I got it for a GREAT deal and it's a nice, solid piece of furniture.  PLUS, I LOVE that it's white.  I'm very into the shabby chic look right now and I'm starting to change out some of the decorations in my home to make it look more that way.

The detailing on the side. I LOVE it!
Ryan made me this knock off Ballard's drying rack and I absolutely LOVE it! It really pays to have a handy husband!
I made one of those cute yarn wreaths.  I recently hung it from an empty frame that I painted off-white and it looks even better! Just imagine....

Ok, my new addiction is Subway art!  I've found SO many free printables online from craft blogs that I'm storing and I'll be switching out of my frames to go with the current holidays.  This one we made for our friend whose boyfriend is gone doing basic training for the National Guard, and he's Ry's good friend so we're doing some things for her for V-day.  I hope she doesn't check this out before tomorrow! (highly doubt it tho)

Please ignore the hot glue on those rosettes.  Messy, messy.
LOVE this 'you are the cheese to my macaroni...'  Found this online for free.
This one is on top of my red hutch. LOVE the old frame.  I've come to acquire several old silver and gold frames that I've spray painted and I LOVE how they've turned out.
This is my cupcake liner V-day wreath. So fun to make and I love how it turned out.

I ordered this burlap pillow from Groopdealz.com.  A few weeks ago they had a special and I'm SO glad I bought it!  What a fun idea! I LOVE burlap! Seriously, Valentine's is my new favorite holiday to decorate for!
Here are a few more printables I came across that I love.  I made this black one, but changed it to "Love Everyone" on the top and had it enlarged and it's not framed on my wall.  I LOVE subway art!!! The yellow one I found online, and the blue one I made and copied the idea from a print I saw on Etsy.  It's the chorus to the country song, "Love Like Crazy." Love it.

Made this pillow from an online tutorial. SO easy to make and adds some color to my guest bedroom.
Ryan and I went to the Jazz game last month when they played the NY Knicks.  FUN!!! My boss has season tickets that are 5th row from the floor on the baseline on the visiting team's side. It was amazing! The players were life size and you could hear everything the players were saying, swearing and all!
I realized after taking this picture how much we look like vampires.  We're so stinkin' white! Tanning bed anyone?!

Here are some pics from the game, I realize I have a crappy camera.  One day, I'll have a nice. one.

Out With the Old, In With the New

Happy 2011!!! Holy crap, the year 2010 has FLOWN by!  Our New Years Eve was pretty low key.  We went down to my parent's in Spanish Fork and ate and watched movies.  We mostly ate...that's what my family is good at.  It was also sad because my sister and her cute family is moving!  AND to El Paso, Texas!!!!  My nephew Jackson and bro-in-law Joe left the next day (today) and my sister leaves early Monday morning.  I bawled my eyes out for the first time in a LONG time.  (Ryan may beg to differ).  I will miss her and my cute and fun nephews and niece!
I bought some ridiculous glasses....everyone had their turn with them.
 My love.
 Jackson.
 Ainsley and Brecken.
Brecken.  New Years eve is also her birthday. She turned 4!
 Me and my mom.
 Dan and Christy.
I posted this pic from when my sister and I ran our first marathon together.  BEST TIME EVER!!!  Well, maybe not during the race, but definitely after! I'll miss you Melissa!  Love ya forever! Get my room ready for me in El Paso.

Kallie's Blessing and Family Christmas Party!

Last weekend, Brooke and TJ blessed Kallie at my parent's home in Spanish Fork.  They wanted to do it before my sister Melissa and her family move to El Paso.  (tear)  Kallie was SO stinkin' cute in her little blessing dress.  TJ did a great job with the blessing too.
Isn't she the CUTEST thing you've seen?!
Brooke and her sweet baby.

This past Tuesday was my family's Christmas party.  We did it early since Dan and Christy left for California the next day.  We exchanged our gifts with the siblings, played a candy game, did a white elephant chinese christmas exchange, and had a FANTASTIC brisket dinner! My mom, of course, went all out and had the most beautiful arrangements on the tables and we all HAD to drink out of the fancy glasses.
Me and Kallie, all hunched over...not sure what I'm doing.

Take two...much better!

We also celebrated my brother Zach's birthday.  His b-day is the 22nd of this month (poor kid!).  His little girl, Brecken did an excellent job of helping him unwrap his presents.
Brooke and TJ's white elephant prizes!

This hat was stolen MANY times!  My dad had one just like this as a kid.  My mom eventually threw it out. It made us all laugh and reminisce.
Dad sporting the hat after he stole it from Dan.

After I stole it from Dad.

Then mom stole it from me!  She ended up with it, but gave it to Brooke because she didn't want it in her house. :)

I snuggled with Kallie most of the night.  :)

Ryan's suh-weet prize he won! It's a keeper!

Ryan lookin' might fine.  I actually think this fits quite well.

Mel and Kallie.

My bro-in-law Joe won the BEST prize of all!  He ended up with little girl's make-up.

Dan and Christy gave Miss Brecken her b-day gift since they'll be in Cali on the big day.  She wanted purple bows, purple dress, and purple boots.  She got the bows and dress and was SO excited, but the first sentence out of her mouth was, "Where are my purple boots?"  It was TOO funny.

Welcome Miss Kallie Ann Welsh!

This post is long overdue! I attempted this a while ago, but my pictures wouldn't up load.  So here's baby Kallie Ann Welsh, the newest member to the Weber clan!  She is also the CUTEST baby ever!  [No biased opinion here! :)] She decided to make her debut 4 weeks early, on October 23, so she spent some time in the NICU but was home a week later.  She was 5 lbs and 19 inches long.  She has the biggest hands and feet and so I'm thinking future volleyball/basketball player. :)
In the NICU
Finally home!

In her cute Halloween outfit her Aunt Kimmie got her.  :)
