Chrismas Festivities!

Christmas this year was SO great! We were able to spend time with both of our families (a LOT of time!) and it made it that much more special. Christmas eve we went over to my sister's house in Orem and ate great food and opened the presents from the siblings. (We exchange names). My parents gave us all our presents then too. We had to open them all at the same time...and what did we get?!!! An all-inclusive trip to somewhere tropical! All the kids and the spouses, no children, are going on a trip in February! I'm SO excited!!! After that, we headed over to Ryan's home in American Fork. Their family exchanges names with the siblings as well and we opened those too. We stayed the night there and woke up Christmas morning and opened the INSANE amount of presents. I really wish I had a picture of the amount of presents that were under that tree. Around noon we headed over to my parents house to see the nieces and nephews open the presents we got them. Man, those kids make a haul! We went and saw the movie, Marley and Me. It was cute. Then we headed back up to AF to spend more time with Ry's family. His aunt Cathy and uncle Chuck came from Cali, so Ry wanted to spend as much time with them as we could. The next few days we saw more movies, did more shopping, played games with family, and ATE! I'm STILL stuffed from all the goodies...and YES I AM looking SO forward to getting back into my gym routine. Oh, and another good piece of news...my little bro Dan got engaged over the break! More news to come on that! Overall, this Christmas was great! I'm sad it's over, mostly because I don't want to go back to work, but I realize I have SO much to be greatful for. We are truly blessed with great family and friends and everything we could ask for. Merry Christmas everyone (a little late). We love you all!

Family Pictures!

This past Sunday at my parent's home, we took some new, updated family pictures. I just love it when we're all dressed alike. I mean, who doesn't?! No, but really, it was fun. We got some good shots and we all LOOK happy, isn't that what counts? :) All kidding aside, no one was too angry or harmed during the shooting. I must say we are a pretty good looking family! We're finally all married off now! Well, Dan's not technically married yet; but we went ahead and included Christy in the family photo, since she will soon be inducted into the Weber zoo.

Be-lated Thanksgiving Post

Sorry about the posts being out of order...Christmas parties THEN Thanksgiving. This was mine and Ryan's first Thanksgiving together as a married couple. The day was full of great food and family. First, Ryan went to play football with his brothers while I went to spin class at the gym with my sister, Brooke. It was too bad for Ryan when he got there to play and realized no one was over the age of 13 or 14; so he went to his parents. I met up with him there later where we enjoyed a wonderful thanksgiving dinner with his family. After being there most of the day, we went down to my family's house for dessert. After dessert we went to see the movie, 'Four Christmases.' I have to say I was disappointed in the movie and was embarrassed at some of the parts since my grandmother was down at the end of the row. Overall it was a great day and I have many things to be thankful for.

A Night Away!

So this last Friday was my dental office's Christmas party. I was so excited when I found out that we were having a sleepover at a hotel, and even more excited when I found out it was at this place...

The Zermatt Resort up in Midway. We each were in a nice room with a king-size bed! I was excited for the king-size, since Ryan and I squeeze on a queen. The rooms were gorgeous, the service was better than I've ever received, and the party was great! We had a nice catered dinner, followed by some guitar hero, poker, and billiards. Then we had the pool and the hot-tub reserved for us later that night. It was SO great to get to know everyone in the office outside of the work environment. AND our Christmas bonuses were VERY generous. I am truly grateful for the job that I have there and that they let me be a part of it. I am blessed to have such wonderful bosses and work with such great people. And I can't wait for next year's party!

Christmas is a time for giving, loving, and ... ugly sweaters?!

To kick in the holiday season, our friend held an ugly sweater Christmas party at his parents house in Highland. I must say it was quite entertaining. Ryan will probably be mad at me for posting this and the pictures, but man did he wear that sweater vest with pride! The party was fun! There was rock band, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation playing in the theatre room, plenty of hot cider, and chili! There were even prizes for the most festive, the ugliest, and the most unique sweaters. Ryan SHOULD have won the most festive; however, the contest was a little rigged. We had a great time and we even got a nice picture with the massively large, life-size reindeer. Happy Holidays everyone!

Six Months Already?!

We made it!!! To our six month anniversary, that is. I can't believe we've been married that long. Before you know it, it'll be a year!

Another Graduation

Two more of our friends graduated this past weekend...from the singles ward that is! Our friends, Jake and Miranda, were married this past weekend in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. Ryan and I were invited to attend the sealing, which I loved attending. It reminded me of mine just six months ago and the commitments Ryan and I made to each other. Plus I just love being inside the temple. :) It was great to see all of our friends as well. Here are a few pictures from her reception.

A Healthy Addiction?

I know this is strange, but lately I've had the urge to buy and collect Christmas wrapping paper. I can't help that when I go to All A Dollar and they have the cutest wrapping paper and each roll is only a buck! You can't even buy wrapping paper at WalMart for that price! So I've stocked up on wrapping paper, clothing boxes, bows and tape. Yes, all for only a dollar each. Anyway...I guess everyone should go to All A Dollar and get themselves some wrapping paper.

A Jam Packed Week

This past week has been filled with lots of fun and exciting things. My beautiful cousin, Heather, joined me in the age 25 to 30 age category. We celebrated her birthday at Cafe Rio in Salt Lake. Ryan turned 31 last Thursday...OMG I can't believe I'm married to a 31-year-old! No, not really. I am so grateful to have married such a wonderful, sweet man. He really is the greatest thing that has EVER happened to me. We had fun celebrating his birthday. We went to breakfast AND dinner with the fam. His dad couldn't come to dinner because of parent-teacher conferences so we did breakfast at I-hop and then we went to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner. I know, I know...Chuck-a-Rama?!!! But I guess don't knock it til you try it. It has something everyone loves...even older women (Ry's g-ma and aunt) and young folks alike. Anyway...since Ryan wouldn't tell me what he wanted for his birthday (he kept telling me "new teeth!" since he has such crap load of dental work to be done...lucky for me I work for a dentist!) I got him some golf balls and gave him some money. I woke him up and sang him happy birthday and gave him his "cake" to blow out the candle. Since he doesn't like cake and is addicted to cookies...I figured one of those Grandma's Cookies with a butt-load of frosting on top would do the trick. I also made him a little something. I know it's lame...but I made him a "31 Things I heart about My Husband" cookie bouquet. Each candy bar had a piece of paper glued to it with something that I love about Ryan on it. He had fun reading what I love most about him. :)

Friday after I finished up at the office, we headed out to Mesquite for Ryan's softball tourney. I thought that I'd shop while he played...but unfortunately there is only a Super Walmart and a Dollar Tree located in that town. So I ended up watching most of his games, which I did really enjoy. It's so great to be able to see what Ryan loves doing most. AND he's really good at it! His team lost their second game Friday night and played a few games and lost in the afternoon on Saturday. The team he lost to ended up taking 3rd overall in the tourney, so not too shabby. We played as much as we could (yes, without gambling) and headed home Sunday to celebrate my nephew, Jackson's, 8th birthday! I cannot believe that he is EIGHT YEARS OLD! My, my how the time has flown by. We had cake and ice cream and we played dress up with the girls. Ainsley is so funny. She'll pose for a picture and then run over to see what it looks like. Brecken loves to dress up as "Rella"...that means Cinderella. She puts on the heels and the dress is a little long for her, so the end of the dress in under her shoes so she really ends up looking like a midget. It really is quite entertaining. I love playing with these girls and I LOVE that they're my cute nieces. I have a great husband, great family...life doesn't get any better than that!

Trick-or-Treat!

So Ryan and I don't have any kids of our own yet (thank goodness!), but Ryan loves all his friends' kids and my nieces and nephews like they were his own. He was so cute! He made these little goodie bags with candy to give to all the little kids; he even made extras in case so no one felt left out. He's going to be the BEST dad someday. But back to Halloween...we didn't dress up this year; lame, I know. And we didn't stay at home to pass out candy. We went and delivered candy instead! We went out to Lehi and Saratoga Springs to see Ry's friends' kids in their costumes. They were seriously adorable! I would have taken pictures if that wouldn't have been weird. Then we rushed over to my sister Melissa's house to see our nieces and nephews. They were all so stinkin' cute and having a ball! Brecken was the prettiest princess and kept sticking her hand in the candy bowl and trying to take some more treats from everyone's bucket. She's got this thing figured out! Ainsley was the cutest little Dalmatian. Caleb was spiderman and Jackson was a scary vampire. The kids had fun going around to the houses and as soon as they were done, they were diggin' in! Twins?!

I was organizing and editing some pictures on my computer, when I came across these photos and thought that Brecken looks a lot like I did when I was about her age. I just hope my future little girl is just as cute at this little munchkin. Tell me what you think!

Catch up!

I feel as though I haven't posted on this blog for a while. Lots has been going on these past few weeks, and a lot in this week alone! The weekend of conference the girls got together while the boys went out to eat and went to see the priesthood session. We all got together at my sister Melissa's house and ate Cafe Rio salads to go (YUM!) and watched a movie, Maid of Honor. It was a fun night with the girls and nieces and nephews. This past week was my mother's birthday! I won't tell you how old she turned...she might kill me. :) We celebrated her birthday at our family Sunday dinner. She's such a wonderful person and I am so blessed to have her as a mother. I wouldn't want anyone else! EVER! Here's a picture of her blowing out the candles (well, pretending really because when they did blow out the candles, I accidentally had my camera turned on video...SO smart!). Her real birthday was Wednesday and all the girls went out to breakfast to celebrate. Happy birthday mom, I love you!

ALSO this week I got a new hair cut! I had been wanting to cut my hair short for several months now and kept telling myself that I was going to wait til Christmas...but I decided I'd waited long enough and chopped it! Chante did it and she did a great job, as always! Thursday night Ryan and I went to the Jazz game. My bro has season tickets and couldn't go so we got to! Here's a pic from the game. I apologize for Ryan, even though he's 30 he still acts young for his age. (TOTALLY kidding...I LOVE this man!) Also, this is the only picture I have with my new hair cut.Oh, and one more thing this week...we went and saw the new Warren Miller film last night. Ryan's brother is working for him and so we got to go up to SLC and get V.I.P. treatment (meaning free tickets) and sit by the projector. The movie really was great and I realize I am the world's biggest chicken because I would NEVER do anything like they do in those videos! Another plus is we got free ski passes to the Canyons for this winter! Yea! I guess that's something that can make me smile when the snow finally does come!

Please, Just Use a Tissue!

Last night Ryan and I went to see a movie for a much needed date. He suggested that we go to Nick and Nora's Never Ending Playlist, or something like that. After seeing that preview and coming to the conclusion that it appears to be for teens, I suggested Max Payne. We met at the AF theatre after I got off of work and as I was buying the tickets, Ry asked if I wanted to see Eagle Eye instead. I should have said YES! BUT...I decided not to since it was already past 7 (but only about 5 minutes) and the movie started at 7. This movie was HORRIBLE! The story line was lame, it was very evil in some parts, the acting was bad, and there was a TON of violence! We probably should have just left, but we stuck through the whole movie. The reason I say we should have left was this 18-year-old looking kid sitting next to me, about 5 minutes into the movie, starts breathing as if he were going to prank call someone and be one of those "breathers." Y'all know what I mean. I look at him and he's breathing through his freaking nose! Then it starts getting that snotty sound...and it was SO loud! I was getting pretty peeved, so I turn to him and say, not so politely and not looking right at him...it was just loud enough so he could hear, "Blow your freaking nose!" I don't think he caught on right away, but after the third or fourth time he FINALLY caught my drift and used his popcorn napkin to blow/wipe his nose through the remainder of the movie. I was able to get him to stop being a "breather" but unfortunately I couldn't make him stop commenting very loudly to his two buddies on his right that everything was "sweet" and "sick." In addition, there was an unhappy baby in the audience. In my opinion, babies should not be allowed in the theatre. :) In spite of the crappy movie, snot boy, and crying baby...it was fun to spend some time with Ryan. Next time, I'll let HIM pick the movie.

Drunk as a Skunk

The other day at the office while I was cleaning a patients teeth, one of the assistants comes running down the hall and says, "You gotta see this!" So I finish my part of the appointment and while I'm waiting for one of the doctors to come and do a dental exam I go to see what all the fuss is about.

Right there outside our office on Center Street in Orem, was a big black expedition and two cop cars. They had pulled over a guy that was so drunk that he couldn't even stand. They were doing all the usual tests that they perform on people they think are drunk. The guy was laughing so hard and couldn't even keep a straight face while he failed every task they had him perform. Pretty soon all of office was down at the window watching the scene outside and cracking up. I guess it was just one of those things that you had to be there for. Then today at work my brother showed me this and I was cracking up! Seriously...check it out.

COOKIES

Yesterday I made cookies when I met up with my sisters and mother to eat, hangout, and watch a movie while the boys were at the Priesthood session of conference. They wanted the recipe; here it is!

The first measurement listed is for an enormous amount. The one in ( ) is the half recipe. (I always half the recipe).

Cream together:
2 cup butter of margarine (1 c)
2 cup sugar (1 c)
2 cup brown sugar (1 c)
Add:
4 eggs (2 eggs)
2 tsp vanilla (1 tsp)
Mix together in another bowl and add to creamy mixture:
4 cup flour (2 c)
5 cup oats (2 1/2 cup) - I use the GV brand quick oats
2 tsp baking soda (1 tsp)
2 tsp baking powder (1 tsp)
1 tsp salt (1/2 tsp)

Add: 24 oz milk chocolate chips (12 oz)

bake at 375 for 6 minutes (if I make big ones, I bake for 8) . I pull them out when they still look a little doughey; just before the edges get brown. That way when they cool they're soft and just yummy!

Goggle Fun!

So the other week while we were down at my parent's house in Spanish Fork for Sunday dinner, we went outside in the backyard to sit and enjoy each other's company and Brecken and Ainsley decided to have some fun. They put on some NASTY goggles and wore them around like they were 'IT.' Those two are so funny and have such great, sassy personalities. I love them so much! My First Page!!!

After several hours and many online tutorials...I created my first digital scrapbook page! I know it's from my birthday, and that's what my last post was about; I apologize for the repetition. BUT I DID IT and I'm showing it off!!! I know it probably sucks, but it can only get better, right?! :)

The Big TWO FIVE

So this weekend I celebrated my twenty-fifth birthday! Crazy to think that I'm a quarter of a century old. Now I just have to wait until the next big birthday...THIRTY! Actually, I think I'm okay to wait a few more years for that one. So my birthday was great! My sweet husband made that wonderful day possible. We actually started celebrating at 12:01 am Friday night/Saturday morning. We were up at Ryan's g-ma's house watching Grey's Anatomy that we had tivo-ed since we missed it on Thursday. Great episode!!! Ryan kept us there until 12:01 and then he rushed me upstairs to give me all my presents from his family. They were all out of town, helping his uncle that lives in Idaho move into their new home. Needless to say I got a haul! After that we went home and slept in. I got up and went to the gym for a nice workout, which I ran into my beautiful sister, Brooke. It's always fun lifting with her. I came home, got ready for the day and Ry took me to a movie, Nights in Rodanthe. I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and had to see the movie. Afterwards, Ryan was a good sport and we did some shopping. We then went up to the Cheesecake Factory with my sister Brooke and her husband TJ, where we met my awesome cousin Heather and her husband Kyle. Surprisingly we didn't have to wait very long at all, only 20 minutes or so, for a table and the food was delicious! I got my fav, the sweet corn tamale cakes and lettuce wraps. Ryan and I shared. And of course, how can you go to the Cheesecake Factory without getting cheesecake?!!! We got the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake (I HIGHLY recommend!). We came home from the great dinner and watched a movie that Ryan's aunt Pat gave me, Maid of Honor. It's always good to end the night with Patrick Dempsey. :) Overall, I had a wonderful day! Thanks to my sweet husband and all my family and friends! I love you all!

The Babysitter's Club

Ryan and I are officially "the Babysitter's Club." Not really, that's just a joke. Whenever we go anywhere or meet up with some of Ryan's friends that have kids, Ryan immediately runs off to play with the kids. Whenever he knows that his friends kids are coming along to an activity, he has to get them a small toy or treat. It's pretty cute. He even tries to tell them when to be good or eat all their vegetables on their plate. I just laugh... I just know he'll be a great dad to our future kids. :)

Our recent run-in with children was Saturday when we went to b-b-q at his friend Adam Clark's house in Highland. It was tons of fun and the burgers were delicious despite not actually being cooked on the grill outside (those kitchen griddles are amazing!)! The grill ran out of propane. I feared Ryan might come back in the house with singed eyebrows from some sort of explosion while he was trying to get the grill started. The yummy dinner was followed by swimming in their heated pool and running to get into the hot tub to warm up due to the chilly weather. Of course Ryan swam with all the kids and performed THE BIGGEST cannon ball/belly flop! Afterwards Ryan and I went home and watched a movie to finish off the perfect evening.

Look out World's...Here he comes!!!

So all of you that know Ryan at all, knows that he LOVES baseball. It's really been a huge part of his life and it literally means the world to him. I don't know which he loves best...baseball or me. (Not really, we all know he loves ME more!) Ryan plays on several softball teams, because he's so good that everyone wants my man on his team. :) This next week, the 17th through the 21st, Ryan is heading to Arizona with a team to play in the World's Softball Tournament. Just wanted to wish my babe luck even though I won't be there cause somebody's got to stay home and earn the bacon! :)

So long St. George...

It is with great regret that I have decided NOT to run the St. George Marathon this year. I mean, who wouldn't love to run for 4 straight hours with your knee throbbing, your feet burning and hurting with every step of the last 6 miles, and NUMB legs?! Plus, don't forget chugging a GU every 45 minutes to keep your energy up. Those things really are great, but they're really hard to stomach! But in all seriousness, I do wish I were running this race, and not JUST for the coveted t-shirt. I'm really just not hard core at the moment and really burnt out. So I'm sad to admit that I'm not running the race, but happy that I won't gain the training weight! (I'm trying to stay positive). Right now I've got one marathon under my belt and I've definitely got plenty of years of running ahead of me!

Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ryan made a special request yesterday for me to make him some cookies. I got this recipe from a friend and thought I'd try it. I usually make AND LOVE chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, but these ones I made yesterday were SO yummy! I keep telling Ryan that I made some dang good cookies. Here's the recipe...give it a try.

3/4 cup butter (softened)

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 3/4 cup flour

milk chocolate chips (NOT semisweet)

Important tips:

• cream butter and sugars in kitchenaid for a few minutes (3-4)


• mix eggs and vanilla in separate bowl. don't mix for too long. add to kitchenaid and cream.


• mix other ingredients (except choc. chips) in separate bowl and add to mixture in kitchenaid.


• add milk chocolate chipes
• bake @ 300 for 15 minutes (I actually baked them for 18 minutes because I made big ones.)

The Greatest (and lamest) Excitement

So I'm here in bed playing on my computer while I listen to my cute husband snore. :) He really only snores when he is TOTALLY exhausted and today he played in an all day softball tourney with some buddies here in Provo. He had fun, buy they lost in the championship game...he claims the umpire made some pretty unfair and completely wrong calls that ended up throwing the game. But anyway...that's not what I'm posting about. This is lame, I know...but I'm excited that I got some new running shoes today. I'm attempting to train for the St. George marathon that I'm suppose to run in October. I haven't done a good job at training at all for this one! Oh well, I'll just take plenty of Gu's and ibuprofen and I'll be good! So to get me excited, and also cure my current shin splints, I got myself some new shoes. :) I've lived in Asics and Mizunos for the past few years and decided I've give Saucony a try. Now I'm excited to go for a long run in these pink shoes!

Burn, Baby, Burn!

This past Friday I got together with some of the girls from hygiene school. We all have wanted to get together to have a little burning session of all our notes, books, reminders of school. We went to Kiwanis (sp?) Park in Provo to use a fire pit there to get the job done. We really had a great time! It was great to see everyone who came (half of our class was there...but still that's only 7) and catch up. Some of the girls made a banner that said UCDH to burn and vent some of our frustrations. That school graduates 50 hygienists a year and have flooded the market and have made it so hard to find jobs! So it's easy to understand why we don't really like their school. Anyway, here are some of the pics I got.

Over the River and Through the Woods...

This past weekend my family had their first vacation get-away! We didn't go very far since it's hard to pack up and take all the nieces and nephews. We all went up to a cabin in Heber in Timberlakes for three days. It was all the kids, spouses, nieces and nephews, and both grandmas. It was so much fun! We left on the 24th and got up there around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Oh my gosh the cabin was so far up the mountain I'm glad we had four-wheel drive. I'm sure during the winter you'd need a CAT to get up there. The cabin was great and slept 17 or so people so everyone had a bed or couch to sleep on. I didn't get a picture of the cabin...sorry. That night Nanna and Papa were in charge of dinner and we had tacos. (Every meal a family was in charge of...great idea and fun!) Zach and Chante brought up Chante's family's 4 wheelers so we rode those around a lot and just had fun playing the Wii and other games that night.

Friday we rented a "party boat." It was perfect because everyone could go on it. However, the boat topped out at 13 mph and didn't make any sharp turns. Tj attempted to wake board and he did get up but he couldn't do any tricks since there really was no wake. We still had fun and got some serious sun! (at least Ryan and I got fried)

Ryan didn't feel all that well, so instead of coming on the party boat, he spent most of the day on his own little boat. :)

Later that night we had our first "annual" Weber Family talent show. I really hope this doesn't turn into an annual thing. If it does, I guess we'll deal with it. :) It was fun, everyone had really cute and funny acts. Each family had to do something, so Ryan and I teamed up with Brooke and Tj. Tj was Richard 'Slimmons' and we did a Richard Simmons workout routine. We dressed up in 80's clothes and Tj had the short shorts and everything! It was pretty fun and hilarious. Ryan stuffed so many pillows in his clothes. He was the "fat kid" in the back. He mostly stuffed his face with doughnuts and attempted to do the moves we did but in the end gave up and just sat there. I was laughing so hard the entire time! Zach and Chante did a really cute magic trick and had Brecken stand there and say (while in a really cute pink frilly dress) "ta da!" Oh my gosh it was so cute!

Mel and Joe and their family did a really cute skit. Dan did some more impressive magic. The grandma's even had something prepared that was really cute. My mom and dad's was hilarious too! They came out and did a Sunny and Cher lip sync to "I Got You Babe."

My dad was funny looking with the wig and my mom looked pretty dang cute! Overall, the talent show was fun even though we're all convinced my mom got the idea from the movie "Dan in Real Life."

The next day we hung out in the morning and Ryan and I had breakfast to make for everyone. We made breakfast tacos and they were so yummy! Around noon we took off and all the boys went golfing and the girls went shopping. We hit the outlets in Park City and then the TJ Maxx there. The outlets were pretty disappointing (not too bad a deal since I didn't spend money then!) but the TJ Maxx there was great! After shopping and the boys were done with golfing we met up and went to the Pizza and Pasta place on old Main Street by the Deer Valley Resort. The pizza was so yummy! After that we went back to our cabin (it was raining and lightening) and had a little surprise birthday celebration for my dad. I really am so blessed to have him for my father. He's such a wonderful man and none of this weekend would have been possible without him. We had delicious cake to celebrate and opened presents. That night we watched movies and went to bed late. The next morning we woke up, cleaned, packed, and headed home! This was such a wonderful weekend and I'd totally do it again!
