Check out my Twirly Skirt!

Ok, so this time I FINALLY made something for myself. I used this tutorial to make my skirt. There's an adaptation for an adult skirt. Ryan said he was glad that I finally made something that wasn't for a baby. I'll be making more of these in the future. This is my first and I'll be making some cuter ones soon!

Fourth of July!

This year we spent the fourth of July with my family at a cabin in Timberlakes in Heber. It was TONS of fun! The cabin was GORGEOUS and I would LOVE to steal ALL of their decorating ideas. The beds were SO comfy and they even had nice and soft toilet paper! (That's a REAL important one!) Here's a quick rundown of the weekend:

We got to the cabin Thursday night and hung out and played games and watched a movie.

Friday Ryan and I cooked breakfast for everyone. We all had turns at cooking meals. We cooked breakfast tacos....YUM!
yes, we still look tired.

Then I went on a walk with Brooke and Tj up around the area by our cabin. There were some pretty good hills! Just next to our cabin there was this lake....I stopped and took a quick picture. Isn't this gorgeous?!

Then we hung out for a bit and headed to Park City to hit the outlets. I must say I was a little disappointed. They didn't really have much.
Later that night we had our annual talent show. (This is really only the second year, and we're all trying to convice my mom that we should have the Weber Olympics since we're all athletic and NOT musically talented). Ryan and I again teamed up with Brooke and TJ to do a hula/booty shake show. It was funny, but didn't compare to last year's Richard Slimmons workout routine.
The group. Don't we totally look official?!
Who knew Ryan had such good mooves?

Ryan gave lei's to the little kids.

And then the booty dance to Destiny Child's "Bootilicious."
Zach and Chante did a really cute puppet show.
Mom and dad did a lip synch to "Leader of the Pack." It was pretty cute and involved all the grandkids.
Melissa and Joe did a cute skit with their family and Dan and Christy had us play a fun game. Overall, it turned out ok this year. :)
My mom brought crafts for the kids to do. We stole some of them.
Saturday was the fourth, as you all know. Ryan and I DID have matching shirts. It's a tradition in HIS family. We went to Heber and then Midway, but neither city was really doing anything fun, so we went to Park City and rode the Alpine Slide. It was fun. I'll for SURE have to do the zipline sometime. We spent the rest of the day on 4 wheelers and playing games.

I have THE cutest nieces.
Brecken's hair freakin' cracked me up every morning.

Sunday we packed up all our crap, said our goodbyes to the BEST CABIN EVER and headed back home. It was a great fourth!

New Listings!

Here's a new addition to my little etsy shop. They're diaper burp cloths. After I made these...I WISHED I had a baby to use them. If I don't sell these...I'll be keeping them for myself. :)

And this weekend we're headed to a cabin in Heber to spend the fourth with my family...so I PROMISE I'll have something else to blog about soon. There's just not a lot going on with the Hanvey's right now. Ryan's in school and all I do is work.

My Own Little Shop!

I just created an Etsy shop! Check it out here... I know...I don't have any babies yet, but hey...I really like making this stuff and it's SO popular right now. Thought I might try and fund my new hobby, sewing...and crafting! I don't have many things listed yet, but I'll be working on that in the future.

Craft Crap

Yes, I'm still in craft mode and keep finding new projects I want to make and I'm stalking etsy and a bunch of craft blogs with free tutorials. Yesterday I found this idea to make these cards to Father's day, which is coming up all too soon....where has this year gone?! My father and my father-in-law will be receiving these and here is a link to a video on YouTube with instructions on how to make it. It's SO easy!

Sorry, my camera isn't the best. I just have my little Canon point and shoot to work with.

I'm also in the process of making these basket liners to make all my baskets look a little better. I've finished a few so far and this is is the finished product. The tutorial is here on Make it and Love it. I was surprised at how easy this was.

And the following pictures are just for kicks. We were at my parents a few Sunday's ago for dinner and Brecken, my two-year-old niece, was sitting on Papa's shoulders. Doesn't she just have the cutest little crack? Oh to be a two-year-old again and not have to care about anything or what people think.

Come and knock on my door...

Hey all! I know that Ryan and I have been in our new place for about two months now and I haven't invited all, really anyone, over. For that, I apologize. I would invite people over for dinner, but I am NOT a good cook and really my skills consist of Stauffer's frozen Skillets and TGI Friday's frozen dinners. So really, you're not missing out. So here's a little tour of our place:
The entry-way.
View from the front door.

The coat/hat hanger by the door and the vinyl letter that I love. :)
I love these little nooks (don't know what they're REALLY called) in my walls. This one is on your left as your walk in.
My laundry room. I have my OWN washer and dryer! This room is on your right after walking in.

The shelf Ryan put in my laundry room. It's SO great to have a handy man!

This little nook is on your right as you walk in. Just past the laundry room.
The main room when you walk in. Ryan bolted our tv to the wall and I love it that way. Then I don't feel like the tv is about to fall on top of me from being too close.
This is our little "hall-way" to the left. Leads to the bathroom and our second bedroom.
This is Ryan's bathroom and the guest bathroom. I told him the only rule is that he has to keep the toilet seat down! He's doing ok with it so far.
The guest/junk room. The Tigger and Pooh bear are no longer there. I took them to my mother's house for her play room for the grand kids.
See what I mean by junk room?!
Our dining room area.
The kitchen. I LOVE the black appliances and that Ryan put that microwave in for me.
Other kitchen view.
I just got this rug for my anniversary. I love it! Beats the heck outta that old red shag one Ryan liked so much.
Entry into our bedroom. There's also a nice hall closet to the right.
Our bedroom.
Other view.
I made this little display for some of our pictures in our bedroom. Yes, I know it's crooked...I still need to fix it....AND put pictures in the frames.
Our/my bathroom.
The closet that Ryan built me that's in our bathroom. I LOVE it!
