It's a....

BOY!  We found out today that we are in fact having a little boy!  We are SO excited!  My sister is a labor and delivery nurse at UVRMC and every few weeks we go down and have a little peek with the ultrasound machine.  Well, today I am 15 weeks and 2 days so we thought we'd try and see if this little baby would give up the goods.  Honestly, within like two seconds, he was spread eagle.  Not. Shy. At. All.  LOVE it!  I've been so excited and anxious to find out the past few days and I was really afraid that this little guy wouldn't let us have a good view.  But he sure did!  Now I can finally start buying boy clothes and either save or give away the girl stuff I've been accumulating.  All I can say is Baby Boy Hanvey has one proud papa.  I know Ryan can't wait to buy the little guy his first baseball glove. :)  It's crazy that in a little less than six months he'll be here! We can't wait!!!
Here's the little guy with his arms by his face.  I can't wait to meet him!
In other news, two weeks ago our place was flooded by our neighbors above us.  It has been a ROYAL PAIN!  The lady above us left her tub running and forgot.  I know some people have already told me they have done something like this before and caught it before it overflowed, but this lady was walking around naked with her towel wrapped around her. She still forgot.  Ryan came home form work early that day because he had a 'feeling' he should. He came home to water running down the walls after leaking through the vents.  Our wood floors are ruined by our guest bathroom and the flood company had to tear out the drywall on a few walls in our bathroom and storage unit and the linoleum floors and toilet in that bathroom.  They also put holes in the wall behind the baseboards to try and dry everything out.  We're STILL dealing with insurance two weeks later and waiting for the adjustor to get back to us.  We had to stay with family and a hotel for about the first week but now we're back in our place and just waiting to begin getting our place put back together. I'll post some pics later.  :)

Our Little Bambino

Ryan and I are FINALLY expecting a little bundle of joy!  We're thrilled and can't wait until he/she makes their debut February 2, 2012!  Today was my twelve week appointment and we heard our little guy's heartbeat on the doppler.  AWESOME!  All of this doesn't really seem real yet, other than the awesome nauseousness. :)  I feel really lucky because I haven't thrown up and I realize things could be a LOT worse!  With my Phenergan/Zofran cocktail, I'm good!  Here's a little picture from my 8 week ultrasound.

Les Miserables!

Les Miserables came to Salt Lake recently and Ryan and I HAD to see it! Honestly, it was U-Maze-Ing!  Ryan and I saw Lion King last September and when Ryan saw the poster for Les Mis, we had to get tickets.  This musical is Ry's fav.  Personally, I liked the Lion King better, but this was still entertaining.  My favorite song was 'On My Own.'  The girl that played Eponine wasn't the greatest, but that song is just amazing.  Here's a pic to prove we were there.  We had such great seats AND they were on the aisle, so we didn't have to climb over anyone.  Next show we wanna see....WICKED!

Spring Break Projects!

I have WAY too many projects that I want to get done. And my problem is that once I finish something, I want to re-do it! So one of the MANY projects on my list included painting some pieces of furniture a nice color to add some pop to my home decor.  When I first started decorating I loved the color red.  Everything I bought was red....now I want some color and variety.  Anyway...I had most of this past week off due to spring break.  Yes, I'm stoked that I still benefit from this as an adult and I'm not in school. :)  I filled my time with sanding, priming, sanding again, painting, sanding, painting again, and then sanding again this:
Notice the ugly hardware and the hideous color.  DEFINITELY needed an update.
Same thing can be said about this thing.  We use this thing to hold our DVD's. We have LOTS! It only holds about half.
 After the sanding.
LOVE the blue color! I always go to Finders Keepers in AF and want everything in that store.  Just go in there and you'll be inspired to paint.
After I finished painting, I sanded the edges to give it the distressed look.
I primed and painted the hardware. All finished.  It looks better in person. :)
See? I told you we had a lot of DVD's! This is just the top half and then there's more in the white buffet next to it!
Do you see my red pillows?
I made slip covers with some super cute fabric my mom got me while she was in Texas.  I LIKE!

Until my next project....I have several planned. My husband thinks I'm crazy. Maybe, I am...Until we have kids this keeps me busy!

Bedroom Makeover!

I've been working on redecorating our bedroom.  I've wanted to switch out the colors to yellow and gray from brown and blue. I bought this coverlet at target and LOVE it! I made a few throw pillows (something I've never had on my bed!) and made a new wall arrangement.  Still a work in progress, but here's what I got so far.

One day I'll refinish the furniture.  For now, it'll do. :)

What a Mighty Good Man!

Yes he is!  (For those of you that know that song...)  So yes, I brag about how handy my husband is, and he'd probably kill me for posting this.  He likes to downplay how great he is.  He installed a new kitchen sink and facet for me!  We got our tax return (yeah baby!) and we decided on two things we'd get.  1. new bed.  We're both big people and we've been sleeping on this queen (yes, that's right...i said QUEEN) mattress that's like at least ten years old!  Honestly, it had some MAJOR impressions.  I'm talking like if you wanted to roll over to the other side of the bed, you had to have some serious momentum to get over the middle bump.  And when you got to Ry's side you were stuck the depression was so bad.  (PLEASE don't tell him I said that!)  2. we got a new sink and facet!  Our water in PG is pretty hard.  I'm thinking I should probably bust out my hygiene scalers from school and chisel off the shiz around my facets.  Our kitchen facet was pretty bad and when you turned it on water would run ooze out of the sides and get all over the counter.  Solution: new facet and sink!  I knew I wanted the composite granite but I was deciding to go 60/40 or single.  I chose single! LOVE it! I'm pretty sure I could bathe in that sucker it's big enough.  It was "fun" to install.  I always tell Ry I'll help, but honestly, for those of you that know me, I can't even put a screw in the wall.  So I "supervised" and aided where I could.  We started 6:00 pm Friday and after MANY choice words were said (and not by me!) and several trips to the home depot and one night without water we got it in! She's a beauty!

New furniture, valentine's decor, jazz game and my new obsession! (whew...long title post!)

So, I have been searching and looking for something to go underneath my TV to replace this tiny little 'thing' I had there and I got an email from this couple that refurnishes old pieces of furniture and I fell  in love! I got it for a GREAT deal and it's a nice, solid piece of furniture.  PLUS, I LOVE that it's white.  I'm very into the shabby chic look right now and I'm starting to change out some of the decorations in my home to make it look more that way.

The detailing on the side. I LOVE it!
Ryan made me this knock off Ballard's drying rack and I absolutely LOVE it! It really pays to have a handy husband!
I made one of those cute yarn wreaths.  I recently hung it from an empty frame that I painted off-white and it looks even better! Just imagine....

Ok, my new addiction is Subway art!  I've found SO many free printables online from craft blogs that I'm storing and I'll be switching out of my frames to go with the current holidays.  This one we made for our friend whose boyfriend is gone doing basic training for the National Guard, and he's Ry's good friend so we're doing some things for her for V-day.  I hope she doesn't check this out before tomorrow! (highly doubt it tho)

Please ignore the hot glue on those rosettes.  Messy, messy.
LOVE this 'you are the cheese to my macaroni...'  Found this online for free.
This one is on top of my red hutch. LOVE the old frame.  I've come to acquire several old silver and gold frames that I've spray painted and I LOVE how they've turned out.
This is my cupcake liner V-day wreath. So fun to make and I love how it turned out.

I ordered this burlap pillow from Groopdealz.com.  A few weeks ago they had a special and I'm SO glad I bought it!  What a fun idea! I LOVE burlap! Seriously, Valentine's is my new favorite holiday to decorate for!
Here are a few more printables I came across that I love.  I made this black one, but changed it to "Love Everyone" on the top and had it enlarged and it's not framed on my wall.  I LOVE subway art!!! The yellow one I found online, and the blue one I made and copied the idea from a print I saw on Etsy.  It's the chorus to the country song, "Love Like Crazy." Love it.

Made this pillow from an online tutorial. SO easy to make and adds some color to my guest bedroom.
Ryan and I went to the Jazz game last month when they played the NY Knicks.  FUN!!! My boss has season tickets that are 5th row from the floor on the baseline on the visiting team's side. It was amazing! The players were life size and you could hear everything the players were saying, swearing and all!
I realized after taking this picture how much we look like vampires.  We're so stinkin' white! Tanning bed anyone?!

Here are some pics from the game, I realize I have a crappy camera.  One day, I'll have a nice. one.
