Oh my goodness does Valentine's Day top the charts this year! That's because we were in sunny, warm Mexico!!! Remember when I told y'all about the trip my parents gave us all for Christmas?! Well, we finally took that trip. We left snowy Salt Lake City last Thursday for somewhere tropical. We had a layover in Houston...it was really too bad I couldn't take Ryan back to the house during that time to show him where my family used to/currently still lives. We arrived late that night in Cancun. The resort is beautiful but the beds are hard as rocks! Plus, most of us got stuck with two full beds instead of kings (Ry and I were in the full beds group). The resort had so many buffets and each night was a different theme. They also had restaurants you could get reservations at. Our last night there we went to the Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda. I ate SO much the whole trip! Friday we spent the day at Xcaret. It was awesome! We swam in an underground river inside of caves, took a nice boat ride, saw massive turtles, monkeys, dolphins, alligators, all kinds of fish....and many more things to name! Saturday we went to Chichen Itza. It was an all day affair. The bus ride was 2 and a half hours there and two and a half hours back! The ride was actually great though. We saw a lot of villages and it really made me grateful for what I have and realize I am truly blessed to live in this country. I couldn't imagine living the way that they do or raising a family in a place like that. Well, Chichen Itza was amazing. It's so interesting that these buildings are thousands of years old and they're still standing! I guess homes and buildings just aren't made like they used to be! We had a tour guide that walked around with us and told us literally everything he knew about the Mayan ruins for about an hour and a half. Then we had lunch at this great little hotel buffet and then had some time to ourselves to wander around and take pictures. On the bus ride home, we stopped at this underground swimming hole. You had to climb down inside - there were steps, but they were steep! It was like the movie Goonies for those of you that saw it. We could swim there if we wanted and then outside there were some little huts to shop in. Another stop we made was in a city that had this amazing old Catholic church. We finally made it back to the hotel and ate TONS! (just like every meal!) Sunday we went downtown to the market and shopped for a few hours. It was fun to barter with the people there, but honestly, I think they really try to rip off Americans. It seemed like so many things were more or just as expensive here! After shopping we headed back and spend the rest of the day at the beach laying out and snorkeling. I didn't really get into the ocean water...there's something about fish swimming around my feet (AND the enormous fear of sharks...which I know there weren't any...but STILL!) . I enjoyed that and the pool. It honestly was SO relaxing. Monday we got up early, 4:30 am. YES, that's right...I said 4:30 to catch our ride to the airport at 5:15. At the airport we shopped and ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Honestly, not very good. The food was cold and very small and expensive for breakfast. While shopping, my mom stocked up on drugs at the drug store. It's amazing what you can buy without a prescription. :) The trip was great and I enjoyed every minute of it. After coming back to the cold, I'm thinking about making Cancun a permanent residence. :)

The other day Ryan and I were at my sister, Melissa's place. Ryan was putting in some windowsills and so I was just hanging out with Mel and the kids. Both Caleb and Jackson had some VERY loose teeth. They were SO excited to show me...since I'm a dental hygienist and anytime anything happens with their teeth now they show me. I love it. :) Ryan and I told the boys that whoever lost their tooth first we'd take out for ice cream! That was it for Caleb...he literally ripped that tooth out (even though it was ridiculously loose). Jackson took some more prodding, but he lost it finally! Jackson lost E and Caleb lost P. Some of you will know what I'm talking about. ;) Here are my cute, adorable, toothless nephews. 
I realize this is a little late, but I figured I'd put up here anyway. Last week marked the one year date since Ryan proposed. He proposed on January 19, 2008. We were in St. George for the weekend, I was running a race down there and we decided to make a weekend of it. I'll never forget how Ryan did it. We went to see a play, Man of La Mancha, and at intermission, Ryan came dressed out as a knight! He's definitely a romantic, which I LOVE! I just can't believe that pretty soon we'll be celebrating our one year anniversary! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. Anybody that knows Ryan, knows what I'm talking about. :)

Yes, I love my husband more than anything and no, I'm not in love with anyone other than him. BUT... I fell in love with a new perfume that I was just recently introduced to. It's Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy! OH MY GOODNESS does this smell wonderful!!!! I highly recommend this to everyone. A girl at the office I work at bought it because a patient of ours was wearing it and then she showed it to me....and yes...I bought it the next day. It's spendy but SO worth it! And if my husband does find out, please tell him I bought it with my own money. :)
Christmas this year was SO great! We were able to spend time with both of our families (a LOT of time!) and it made it that much more special. Christmas eve we went over to my sister's house in Orem and ate great food and opened the presents from the siblings. (We exchange names). My parents gave us all our presents then too. We had to open them all at the same time...and what did we get?!!! An all-inclusive trip to somewhere tropical! All the kids and the spouses, no children, are going on a trip in February! I'm SO excited!!! After that, we headed over to Ryan's home in American Fork. Their family exchanges names with the siblings as well and we opened those too. We stayed the night there and woke up Christmas morning and opened the INSANE amount of presents. I really wish I had a picture of the amount of presents that were under that tree. Around noon we headed over to my parents house to see the nieces and nephews open the presents we got them. Man, those kids make a haul! We went and saw the movie, Marley and Me. It was cute. Then we headed back up to AF to spend more time with Ry's family. His aunt Cathy and uncle Chuck came from Cali, so Ry wanted to spend as much time with them as we could. The next few days we saw more movies, did more shopping, played games with family, and ATE! I'm STILL stuffed from all the goodies...and YES I AM looking SO forward to getting back into my gym routine. Oh, and another good piece of news...my little bro Dan got engaged over the break! More news to come on that! Overall, this Christmas was great! I'm sad it's over, mostly because I don't want to go back to work, but I realize I have SO much to be greatful for. We are truly blessed with great family and friends and everything we could ask for. Merry Christmas everyone (a little late). We love you all!
