Yesterday Ryan and I celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It was a great day. I told Ryan before that he was in charge of planning it. :) We decided we'll take turns planning it out. I must say, he did a fantastic job! It really all started Friday when I got off work. He called and told me he broke the light in our bedroom while trying to fix the rails on our bed (they kept popping out everytime Ryan or I got on the bed) and that he needed me to run to Lowe's and see the prices to replace it. Long story short and after my patience was WAY TOO thin, I came home to a few surprises....Ryan had put in a ceiling fan in our bedroom and an above the range microwave while I was at work. I was SO excited!!!! I've wanted both since our bedroom gets a little warm at night and I have absolutely NO counter space in my kitchen and my current microwave took up half of it. Saturday, the REAL anniversary day, I woke up early and went to the gym, he was kind enough to let me go. He wouldn't tell me where we were going really at any point during the day, he'd just start driving in one direction, give me some lame story as to why we were headed in that direction, and then just pull up to the place we were going. We went to Callie's for breakfast. I had the 'pitcher's mound'....SO GOOD! Next we headed off to get massages! I've wanted one for SO long and it was Ryan's FIRST TIME! We went to the Utah College of Massage Therapy (it was two for one) and I was a little skeptical when I saw my massage therapist...he looked a little scary....but it was WONDERFUL! And it was great because Ryan had put us on the list earlier so we just walked right in! I think I'll be going there in again for sure. Next we headed down to the mall in Provo. We did some shopping and headed to a movie. We'd already seen every new movie except for 17Again, which we both had wanted to see. After the movie we did some more shopping and then headed to dinner at the Olive Garden in American Fork. We headed home after dinner to watch the Laker/Nugget game and when I walked in the door, there was this:

My new addiciton!
Lately I've been feeling crafty. No idea why. I think mostly it's because I came upon this website UCreate. I LOVE these tutorials for things that I've seen selling for 30 to 40 dollars that I can EASILY make for less than 10 or 15 bucks! I just made this:
These I've seen for sale at a kiosk in the mall...and they're SO easy. The tutorial is here.

My Mother
I have been so blessed in my life to have such a wonderful mother. She is one of my best friends and I love everything about her. She's the best example to me of what I hope I can be when I do have children. Thank you mom for all you have done and will do.
I'm also blessed to have a wonderful Mother-in-law that has raised a wonderful son and has always shown nothing but love and kindness to me. I love you, thank you.
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, with or with-out children!

Updates! (and a little bit of Easter)
Since we've moved into our condo we (and by we, I mean Ryan) have been busy making updates here and there. We had to put in a vanity in our bathroom because there was just a sink hanging out of the wall. And we had to put some shelves in our closet. Our closet is located in our bathroom and there was just one shelf located at hip level. So Ryan took out that shelf and is working on building me a closet! Honestly, the pictures do NOT do it justice. Ryan is pretty talented when it comes to building things. I'm so excited for all of this to be done soon so we can start on other projects! :)
And since last Sunday was Easter, I thought I'd post a picture of the cute little nieces and nephews after the egg hunt at my parent's house. It was SO fun to watch those guys totally get into it. I told Ryan I want a kid JUST for these types of things. But then after seeing them all high on sugar and running around like crazy and then crashing...I'm good just being an aunt for now.
Our new vanity!!! The top is granite and I LOVE the fixtures. (And yes, Ryan installed it).
The closet Ryan is in the process of building me. I'm SO glad I married a handy man. :)

YUM!
So since Ryan and I have bought our own place and we've been eating out everyday for like the past two weeks and I'm SO SICK of fast food, I sat down last night and planned out our meals for this week. Yes, I know...this is a FIRST! I know I'm challenged when it comes to things in the kitchen. And then today I even went and bought the groceries for the meals this week. Tonight I made my first meal: cheddar, bacon, and avocado grilled sandwiches. I know it's not difficult (my kind of cookin'!) but it was SO good! Try it!
makes two sandwiches:
6 slices bacon
6 oz cheddar cheese, sliced
half avocado, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
bread
-cook the bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, turning once. drain bacon on paper towel
-place half of cheese on bread slice, layer tomato, bacon, avocado, and place half of cheese on top
-grill sandwich on griddle or frying pan on medium heat, put butter on bread slices and cook til cheese is melted [careful when flipping that sandwich...mine fell apart several times :)]
I'm starting off easy this week...tomorrow night is Bajio Green Chile Salad! :)

We Made It!
We finally moved into our new place in Pleasant Grove this past weekend! Here are a few pictures of the place, please excuse the mess. There are some before we moved in while under construction and now...still looking like it's under construction. We put tile in the kitchen and entry-way and real hard wood floors throughout except the bedrooms. I might try and post some pictures in a while when we get things all set up and done. We still have some projects to do...we're putting in a bathroom vanity in our bathroom...it was handicap accessible before we moved in...I'll have to post some pictures when that's all done. Ryan is also going to build me some shelves in our closet so as of right now my clothes are in boxes and hung up in our coat closet. :) I'm so excited to have a place of our own!

Welcome to the Real World...
Yes, I am finally becoming an adult and as of next week I will OWN my place of residence! Ryan and I got a KILLER deal on a condo in Cambria located in the lovely town of Pleasant Grove and we couldn't be more thrilled! We got approved for the loan and are just waiting on the final paperwork. As soon as we get in and get the place set up, I'll put some pictures up! Yay for growing up!
