Another project...

My wonderful Cousin, Heather, gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby for my birthday...honestly...the. best. gift. ever. (thanks Heather!) I saw this monogram wreath and that's what I wanted to make! I still haven't added the letter to my wreath (waiting for the paint to dry!) but I couldn't wait any longer to post this! This is my first attempt at making a wreath. I spent less than half of what I could have bought this for at Hobby Lobby even WITH their 50% sales and it only took me an hour. The only bad thing about this experience is that my kitchen table got all scratched up...I'm an airhead and didn't think to cover it before I started...oh well! I'll post another picture when I get the letter hung.

I LOVE the gold and the glitter on the leaves!

The letter that's going to hang from the middle. The color isn't as white as it appears. It's called "vintage white."
PS - I went to one of Ryan's softball games tonight...it's too dang cold! WHAT happened to fall?!

Update!

Can I tell y'all how grateful I am that my sister is a nurse?! Last Thursday at work I was feeling sick. I'm sorry, but there's no nice way of saying this...GI distress and cramping in my stomach. All day long I felt like I needed to throw up, but I have THE strongest gag reflex. I can, no lie, stick my fist down my throat and I WILL NOT throw up. I made it through my 9 hours of patients and then came home and just passed out on my bed. I felt worse and worse as time passed and finally called my sister to come over and give me one of these babies...
Yes, an IV. She came over, popped that sucker in, and in about three hours I had gone through 2 bags and by the next morning I was feeling ten times better! I was able to function at work and make it through the day. However, I had taken a phenergan for my nausea and was struggling to keep my eyes open. But don't worry, I didn't poke anyone with my sharp instruments.

Next thing was our long awaited Boutique! It was a success! Thanks to all who came out, even if you came on Friday and I didn't get to see you! Hopefully next time we'll have more people there...but we did have a pretty good turnout. I went up with my sister Brooke Friday afternoon after we both were done with work. We made it up there just in time to see things before we closed up for the day. Then we went out to eat and I got to stay in a hotel with my lovely sisters. I have to apologize to them. I wasn't much fun because I still wasn't feeling well and I was still very tired from my meds. :)

Saturday, Ryan came up and spent the day with me at the sale. He probably sold more things than I did. When he came up, he brought this...

As soon as my grandmother saw this, she just yelled, "SOLD!" My mother came running over to see what it was and it about turned into a bidding war. Grandma won.

Since Sunday was my 26th birthday, Ryan and I went out to dinner Saturday night at the Olive Garden in Salt Lake. We went all out and stuffed ourselves. It was delicious. We were going to go see a movie afterwards, but we were both so worn out after the long day that we went home and watched a movie Ryan had bought me for my birthday.

This past week has been busy, but lots of fun!

Here are some pictures of the group after the conclusion of our boutique sale:

Last week I was on Etsy (big surprise there!) and I came across these fabric cards. I remember making cards with stamps, glue, and cardstock when I was little...(I started crafting at an early age...nerdy, yes). So I thought I'd give it a go. Try making a few. I just took some old "Thank You" cards that I'm sure I bought a WalMart back when I was in college, got some fabric, old lace and buttons from my grandmother and mother, and started sewing on my machine! I have to say, I was tickled with myself when I finished the first few. I honestly NEVER would have though to make a card with fabric! Mine definitely aren't as cute as the ones I saw on Etsy, but I sure had fun making them! Here are a few pics, sorry my camera is crappy. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a nice camera!

This one I didn't take out of the plastic bag I put it in. I bought these bags off Etsy to make them look more 'professional' since I'll be selling these babies at our sale this month.

Ok, and this I just put a pic on here. It's a wipes case I made for a girl at work that's about to have a baby. I just LOVE this fabric...it's from an old gunnie (spelling?) sack that my mom got from my grandmother. So vintage. :)

Watch Bands!

These things are SO popular right now and my mom and my sisters all got together one weekend to make these babies...it was SO fun! We've all continued to make them on our own and we plan on selling these things at our barn sale at the end of this month. :) We also bought matching watch faces...I love them all so much I want to keep them!
These are my little flower cabochon bobbi pins...These were so fun to make and SO easy!
That's all for now...I have TONS of other things I'm making that I'll post later.

The NOT so silent dog whistle

So... we have this single lady that lives above us that has two dogs. They. drive. me. crazy. Only when they bark though. They really haven't been bad up until these past few weeks. They're barking a lot and running around a ton! Does she play chase with them inside?!!! They other day they started barking uncontrollably around 4:30 am and kept at it for a good half hour. I wanted to beat the ceiling to death with my broom. Ryan and I went to Petsmart the other day and bought this....

I don't think it really works though. It is NOT silent, and the few times we've tried it, nothing happens. Oh well, at least we had fun while buying it!

Please, Don't Judge Me...

If you come over to my house and see my guest (now craft room) room looking like this....

Please don't judge me. :)

My mom, sister's (including in-laws), g-ma, aunt, etc. are having a sale in October at my grandmother's farm in Layton. My mother, who really just happens to be Martha Stewart in disguise, had this brilliant idea to have a "barn sale/boutique." My mother is re-doing furniture and fun nick knacks for your house, as well as any kind of craft you can think of to sell at this event. She has created a monster. All of sisters are finding things that we can make/makeover to sell. It's quite fun, but also ADDICTING! So that's why my room looks like that. You should see my living room! My coffee table has crap all over it as well. I clean it up, really just to make myself feel better, but then an hour later I have it all out again. Ryan thinks I've gone crazy...and, come to think of it....I really have. So if you stop by, please excuse the mess.
